help identifying sensors

hello people....i've looked this up put i couldn't find anything on it...i was woundering if anyone knew what those to little sensors are on the front of the intake manifold just below the alternator bracket on the pass. side....theres one with a square connector on it and the other is round...i think i have a good idea of what the round one is...the reason i'm asking this is because the other day while working on my car i accidently broke the head piece off of the square one....i just can't figure out what it is....and it seems like ever since i broke it the car hasn't had much power at all and the temperature gauge is acting funny....any help at all would be great.....

That would be your Coolant Temperature Sensor. It is vital to engine performance, probably should replace it soon...

ok well i figured out that the smaller sensor with the rounded connector is the engine temp sensor and the bigger one is the cold start switch which is the one i broke...now come to find out that this little thing $75 at autozone...what i need to know is if this sensor is vital and if i just leave it the way it is for right now will effect my cars performance?

How bad did you break it? Is it completely destroyed?

Its a vital sensor during start-up.. can you plug it in?
I wouldnt advise driving around without it, but if you
can "band-aid" it so to speak, that could buy you some time.

Id would definately replace the sensor in the near future
just for peace of mind..

Good luck
