quick question please

I have searched and read a lot of post....
I don't know squat about TPI ...I have a 305 TBI and will be getting a 350 TPI complete with ECM and harness...

But when I rebuild it....first rebuild ever mind you......can I go with vortec heads and intake without any issues. with the TPI system bolting back up?
...I need this as painless as possible...

thanks a lot

MAF tpi or Speed density?
with the proper vortec style intake:
- MAF, no issues
- MAP, probably not run worth a crap w/o a tune.

-If you're going through that much work, put a cam in too. The factory is small for a factory motor.

the engine is in a 87 iroc now so that should be speed den,? I think, I did plan a cam, that will come into play when I know how much lift I can use.

I will probably just go with the heads from "edlebrock" for that year of engine....I really need this to be as painless as possible, I know there will be some tuning as well,

Speed Density systems didnt occur until 90-92

Your 87 IROC motor is a MAF TPI setup.. MAF gives
you alot of freedom when choosing a cam, unlike the
Speed Density TPI systems..

MAF= (Mass Air Flow) measures the incoming air that flows thru the MAF sensor and then sends the info to the ECM & calculates air/fuel/timing ratios for the engine to run correctly, which makes internal modifications a breeze ..

Either way, I dont for-see any major issues from
what you described other than deciding which
heads/cam to run ..

Do a for other build-ups here on Thirdgen.Org !!
