HELP!

Hey guys well I had some questions. I want to add a lot of Horsepower to my car but keep it looking stock and not switch the TPI to an LS1. I always thought work with what you have and make it better. I mean LS1's are great engines but I think they dont belong in a 3rd gen. I want to do some engine work first and then add a supercharger. If you guys can lead me in the right direction into coming close to 400-500 hp if its possible let me know.

Some help with suspension and transmission would also be appreciated thanks.

If this task is too expensive ill just swap the TPI with an LS1 and supercharge that. Let me know guys. THanks!

My car is an 89 Iroc-z 350 TPI - 700r4 transmission

Rear wheel horsepower, or flywheel? If it's the former, I'd seriously consider the LS1... but if it's the latter, stick with the L98. Power comes from the head and cam combo, so be sure to choose wisely. As for supercharging, you won't need to.

The LS1 swap would be like 5000-6000 grand if I can fix my car with 3000 I would be happy. Let me know if it can be possible with that kind of money and what parts would I need. If worse comes to worst ill buy a wrecked camaro and switch out everything to my 3rd gen. Thanks!

With $3000.00 to spend (not including injectors, tune etc.); I'd go with a Holley Stealth Ram, Dart Iron Eagle Heads, and custom Thunder Racing camshaft. So long as you're valve events are on the money, and you have proper dynamic compression, you will see the numbers you desire....

so the tpi is able to get 400 hp at the wheels without adding the supercharger? Thats incredible I do think Imma let the engine breathe better with an intake headers cat back and then fix the cam/heads combo and after all that add a supercharger. What do you guys think??

Dart Iron Eagle heads range from 165cc to 230 cc (depending on you're setup), all for about a grand, completely assembled. That, accompanied with the right camshaft, and HSR, and you won't even need a supercharger. Unless, you're looking for six hundred horsepower...

so this would be achieved with less than 2500? If so I will probably have this in a couple of months. What can and HSR do you recommend with the Iron heads? And how much would everything run for or if you have links. THanks for the help so far guys

Summit Racing can supply the HSR (Holley Stealth Ram), along with the Dart Iron Eagle heads. I would contact the people over at Thunder Racing regarding you're cam selection (I could recommend one, but there are too many variables; stall, gearing etc)....
