question about tpi swap and ecu
i have an 86 camaro and we swapped in a 350 block with vortec heads from gmpp... the lower intake is edelbrock and a mild cam... problem is now that we cant get it to start and run properly even though we cold timed the car correctly...however when it does run, and we do get it started, it runs poorly and gets really hot really quick... we suspect the problem to be with the ECU/ECM unit as we discovered when we pulled out the stock ECU that it was NOT a GM computer.. obviously someone was in there before us... we think the generic aftermarket computer is haveing trouble controlling this 350 vortec headed combo cuz its original programming was for a 305... any suggestions are welcome... thanks guys

Well, tell us what ECM and intake set you had to begin with, then tell us what intake and ECM setup you are using.
I/e if you've tried to run a TPI off of a Carb ECM, my uneductated opion is your FUBAR'ed
