Replacement of an old TPI 350.
Greetings, i got a 90 iroc-z with a 350 tpi .. nothing special ... its got 120k on it and just seems tired ... at first i was gonna yank it and rebuild it but i'd like to hear some ideas on what to do ... I got 4k max to look into another motor or rebuild it and toss on a SC ... It currently seems to maybe have a sticky lifter and some weak rings "can't verify it since i didn't have it tested" ... But in any case, it needs to come out ... Should i look into a base motor and keep the existing TPI .. it can die all it wants after 6k ... i'm lookin for something to scare the pants off myself from idle/launch till around 100+ mph for fun ... i'd imagine for 4 grand i won't get it .. but we'll do what we can till i come accross some more cash to dump into it ... any ideas?
Also, this car doesn't need to meet emissions, its drivin less than 5000 miles a year and is papered, except. If that helps.
