got a code 36

This all came about when me and a friend tried to get my fans working, we cut the fuel pump and blew a fuse by mistake, fixed that but now ive constantly got a code 36 but the car is driving fine. Ive never had any problems with it before, just after cutting some wires from a connector and taking them to a switch for the fans ive got this code now.

the wires that were cut are on a connector down where the air box is, the connector with 2 relays right next too it, i think one was an earth and the other a 12v that went to the fans, now they go to the battery and to the switch, anyone think this is why or perhaps something has been disturbed, IE the relays ?

Not seeing exactly how the fan switch was wired, it SOUNDS like there is a wiring problem. There should be no need to connect to battery voltage to install a fan switch. All the connections can be done on the grounded side of the fan relay operating coil.

Have a diagram?
