Just a question

are the 87 tpi cars maf or speed density and tell if i'm wrong but can you use a prom from a speed density car on a maf system? i wouldn't think that would work but i don't know

it should be a MAF motor.
iam almost positive youll need the prom for a maf to work on a maf ecm.

You cannot run a MAF car on a SD ECM without swapping in a MAP sensor and changing the wiring. 87 cars are MAF, and the only reason I would see for changing it would be if your maf goes bad (it's slightly cheaper to change to SD and it's a little more tuneable since it's a newer program).
