few things left...help needed
Alright..I dont have a camera available..all help is appreciated
1...There is a tiny nipple under the throttle body...looks like a hose goes on..what goes there and where does it come from
2. There is also (3) places for hoses on the left side of the throttle body...I have the top one going to the pass. side breather on the valave cover...the bottom one going directly into that wired smog looking thing right next to it..where does the middle one go and where does it come from.
3. And last..where the hell is the knock sensor?...did a few searches and some say the pass. head..some say the pass. side block...either one..i cant find it.
Thanks guys.

the missing hoses goto the evap canister located on the drivers side just behind the headlight in the engine compartment. Also, the knock sensor IS on the pass. side block near where the starter is located

tiny nipple under the throttle body is for the EGR valve, the hose from it goes to the EGR valve solenoid.

which one is the compressor clutch? I see only one plug in on my AC compressor, its on the back nnext to the freon tubes, and its round. Cant see anywhere else this would plug into.

That plug should connect right behind the pulley on the compressor. The hose that you're lost on pic #3, goes back to the back of the pass side valve cover and goes into the firewall. It's a hard line.

Here's a pic I found that shows where the a/c plug goes. If you look you can see that hose go to the back of the engine.

Hi,
After looking at some of your pics, I realize that you are using the wroung parts for an TPI setup. Both the Air-Divertor valve and your charcoal canistor are incorrect parts for TPI. I did an TPI conversion to my 82 Firebird back in 1998. I know by experiance that it is very important to get the correct componants to fit the emission controls.

There always one in the group. It does't look the same as mine. And my conversion has been running correctly since 1998 except a few times when I have had componant failures. I also had a GM parts manager help me with the converison.
Look at his Air-Divert valve, it is wroung for an 89 setup. The vacume hose routing at the rear of the engine compartment is also incorrect. The charcol canister is also wroung. Getting this stuff right is very inportant. I worked with GM Part Manager, GM Service Manager and experianced GM Techs when I did my conversion.

What year tpi setup did you swap too? If all this info is wrong then could you provide the correct info? Also his car is an 87 so if they are different that might explain it.
Here are a couple of pics of my 87, might not help.

vacuum routing

This tank is were one of the 2 hoses that go into the firewall harness connect, the other connects to the "What the F*** goes here?, this a vacuum controlled valve for the cabin heater. If the A/C doesn't cool, or the heater doesn't heat swap the hoses because one needs to be connected to the vaccum tank.

my car is an 87, and the smog equipment if factory as far as I know.
And yes, like you said rgarcia63, the vacuum hose routing is incorrect, thats what Im asking help for and why I posted the pictures. The first diagram you posted is the same one posted under the hood. Along with the others you posted Im sure I can fix the issue. thanks
