LT1 intake - with EGR - CA legal?

As I live in California, what is the legality of a LT1 intake on a L98?

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...hlight=LT1+EGR

I've found that it is possible to run EGR with the LT1 intake, but will it pass inspection? I don't own a 3rd gen yet, but if there is enough budget options out there, that will change as soon as possible.

Any smog technicians out there? Major thanks!

Technically, no. It'd need to be a LT1 from top to bottom with the electronics and everything. Is it possible some techs will let it slide? Sure.

Bummer. So even though it is a GM part and still complies with the smog system, California won't take it.

Hmm

Its made to work with an LT1 engine, not a TPI, so its not smog legal on an earlier engine according to the smog law. But you can always take a chance a tech wont notice it.
