Burn off relay connector On TPI is filled with grease.
I keep getting the check engine light, with error codes 34 & 36 on my 88 TA 305 cu in TPI enginge ( 5 speed manual). I have already replace the MAF sensor, didn't help. But while going over the wiring and connectors, I took the plug off the Burn off relay and found it loaded with black greasy substance. Has anyone else come across this before, it looks like it was put there on purpose. Since it is not on anything else around the relay. I know from other things this can be sometimes be used to seal out moisture. But I am not sure in this case, since the other pulgs and connector do not have this grease on it. I am about to flush this stuff out with cleaner and by a new burn off relay.

The black stuff is dielectric grease and is supposed to be there. It keeps moisture out of your connections.
