What year did throttle bodies/throttle cables change?
Hi guys, I know the TPI throttle bodies have two different style throttle cable mounts, depending on the year. What was the cutoff year for the new cable? Will my 1987 throttle body use the same cable as a 1989 TB?

i think it will. when you see t/bs advertised in the mags and online they refer to 85 to 92 (tpi) then the 93 to 95 (lt1) im guessing an lt1 tB wouldnt go on a tpi, so that later one you have, as long as its tpi, should go on ok. hope this helps. (and makes sence!)

I found out the answer. 1985-88 and 1988+ TPI have different throttle body arms due to different throttle cables, as I suspected. They will not just bolt up. The aftermarket TB's have screw on attachments to compensate.
