belt size w/no smog and u-pulleys?

Hey,
I checked the tech article on re-routing the belt to bypass the smog pump and it gives the # of the new belt you'll need even if you have underdrive pulleys. It says the belt is about one inch shorter than stock.....

Is this for underdrive pulley sets that replace just the smaller crank and alternator pulley's or the set of 3 underdrive pulleys?

Also, i have an 89 350 tpi, what do you do with the two wire connectors that go into that black box after you take all the smog junk off?

Thanks

just tape off the wires, cut them short and tape them up. Thats all I did on my 87 and my friends 89.
Now the belt....he has the alternator, power steering, water pump, H ballancer, and his A/C. He took the specs off the site and went to to Advanced auto and ordered the bely by the size and it fit perfect.

Is this the routing your doing?

If I can find the number when I get home I will post it.

5060930 thats the number on my receipt.

Size: 93" long by .82" wide with six ribs according to a site that stocks that number.

It was a custom one where I took the one that fit before the March power amp series underdrive and bought two belts that were a bit smaller. tried both and one of them work and took back the other one.

I have been running the pullies and new belt for 10k miles, everything seem to be working great. charging is normal, and battery is liking it.

I just cut off any connectors and tapped the wires that went to that smog stuff.
