If you have VATS removed then it might be a fuel problem. How is your pump wired? I have dealt with a lot of TPI wiring, maybe I can help you.

I dont like to mess with electronics when i have seriouse issues, i trashed the TBI, but the TPI is worth saving for low end torque, but my carb will deliver top end power.

Ive got the fuel pump wired up to the relay like it supposed to be its a harness like painless so everything was labeled what needed to be where and the pump purges when I first turn the key on for a few seconds it just seems the computer isnt telling the injectors to pulse. Also I was reading somewhere that if the computer doesnt see oil pressure it wont let the engine run????? this harness i have didnt have any wire's for a oil pressure gauge since its for the bare min. no egr or anything to do with emissions.

Sounds like VATS or a relay problem. Test for power at the relay. Test your injectors and make sure they are pulsing. I have use a painless harness before and it was very easy. How do you have the injector circuits and the fuel pump relay powed?

well it was really like a 3 wire hook up on this harness, it had a fuse block and the 3 wires by it 1 for batt+, the other for acc+, and the last is for the fuel pump +. as for vats I got a chip from painless that disables vats

how would i test the injectors pulse and thanks so far for all your responses. also is there anyway to test the magnetic pickup of a dist?

A device called a noid light. It plugs into an injector plug and flashes as the injector pulses. What kind of distributor are you running? The distributor sends the pulses for the injectors.

1. Check for injector pulse, 2. Verify the pump and relay are working, 3. Make sure all connections are good.

Things that will cause no injector pulse 1. VATS, 2. bad ignition module, 3. wiring problem, 4. ECM problem. What does the chip from painless look like? I had to fix someones swap because the instructions with a painless VATS bypass module was wrong.

it was a new chip that goes in the ecm, just installed a new ignition module all i can think of is a bad pickup or a bad ecm since im not sure if it was good. And thanks again bingo

Ok Problem fixed, After a few hours of trying differnt things and tracing wires comparing to schematic It turned out being the adapter I had to go from the big 4 plug to the small 4 plug for the control module the wires were put in backwards made a new one plugged it in and fired right up!!!!.

Thanks again Bingo for all your help

Here's a pic of the plug i was talking about
