TPI - HELP!

Ok,

I have a 89' T/A 305 TPI...runs good but the tranny is showing its age. Anyway I want to build a small block to put out 400-500hp. I want to keep my TPI set up and my 700R4 (rebuilt of course). I also want to eventually supercharge it...Besides those musts, i am an open book. Should I build a 383 , 355 etc. I really want to keep the cubes as small as possible without reusing the 305 block. This will be a daily driver with the ocassional weekend track dates.... Anyone have any ideas/combos that have worked well in the past. I am still a "shade tree mechanic" so nothing super difficult.

Also - what type of torque converter should I run?

AND does anyone in NE Oklahoma have a good 350 block for sale?

If you are going to supercharge it than that is a different ball game. Your cam selection and compression ratio will be different from a naturally asperated car. With the lower compression required for forced induction you most likely will not achieve your goals without the blower.

You can get 400+ horsepower from a 350 naturally asperated with not much problem these days and with TPI using the right parts. With a 383 it is much easier to get 400+ horsepower.

Well to be honest, If I can achieve what i am looking for without the charger then I will persue that avenue!
