Will I need drag radials?

Aiming at 300-330 rwhp and going to the track on 31/1/07. Should I just test with my street tyres or not waste my time and buy some drag radials.... The track is generally fairly sticky but wont some opinion of what others have found. I have 2000 stall and 4 speed. (sorry forgot the code)

You will always go quicker with drag radials. The key to lower ETs is the 60' time. If you have 16" wheels, look into the BFG TA Drag Radial P255/50R16.

I'm running 320ish (Dyno'd) RWHP and run the Nitto Drag radials. They do launch better than my old street tires but not better than my newer Eagle F1's. So I'd say it's going to depend on how well you hook up with your stock tires. I'd encourage you to try what you have before sinking money into tires and rims that may not buy you anything (or much).

I put a shoe polish white mark on my sidewall and video taped the launch. Upon review we could see my old street tires spin quite a bit and my 60' time sucked.
