I have lots of probs.

My car is an 89 irocz with a 350 and a 700r4 here is what's wrong.

First, I donno what is wrong with the car. Sometimes I punch it and the rpm's spike and the car doesn't move. Sometimes I punch it and the car moves but slow, other times it just throws me in the seat and it gets. I replaced the TPS and IAC. then the car started to idle at 2500 rpm. Its better now but still idles high(1500, then drops to about 900-1000 when the car warms up) sometimes when i rev it and the rpm's stay up. When I leave it in drive sometimes the gears go a few hundered past the redline.

I really hope someone knows something about this, cause I sure don't.

Your post is kinda vauge..but when you swapped the two sensors on the throttle body, did you correctly set them? The TPS is crucial to performance, and the IAC is crucial to idling. But to me, sounds like your tranny clutches are starting to go out....anyone else???

I don't know where they are set. My dad is the one that changed them. Well it looks like I am gonna have to take it to a shop and let a pro work on it. As for the tranny clutches do you mean the torque converter? if so I'll just get a high stall converter if that's the case.

slow down..... you can adjust IAC and TPS yourself with ease. there is a tech article on the main page. and as for the TPS... well i happen to have somthing that might help:

the tech article is a little vuage on the TPS thing, this pick should help.

but yeah, the not going thing sounds like a tranny to me. looks like it's 5 speed swap time.

Higher stall convertor?? What are you talking about?? Clutches mean clutches. Nothing to do with torque convertors. If you not a drag car, high stall convertors will make your gas mileage go to **** FAST! You need to do some reading on setting the sensors, its really easy. You can't just remove one and put on a new one with no adjustments, it doesn't work like that.

depends on how high of a stall and whether your getting lock up or not.

I agree with the tranny going out, have the tranny checked over. Also, you dont just change sensors on EFI cars, especially the TPS and IAC. As stated above, there are tech articles on the home page here on this site. Read the TPS and IAC stuff. And it sounds like you need to set the idle RPM also,, and this has to be done correctly. Please read that tech article also.
