injector problem?
Car was running fine the other day.drove to lunch, still fine.Cranked car after lunch and its shakeing like its missing at idle.put it in gear and its missing for sure. After work i drive it home and havent driven it since.I have cranked it to check things out and it cranks right up but still misses. All the plugs i could get to look fine but with my limited tools and free time I could only check 5 plugs.I had a plug wire hitting the headers and i changed the wire with no change in the way it ran but its on one of the plugs i couldnt get out. While it was running last it was acting like it wanted to flood out and exhaust smelled like gas.BTW i am running accel injectors and yes i know they have problems, found out after I purchased them(research better next time)Live and learn huh.So do yall think I`ve been bit in the *** by the accel injecter bug?

Unplug the injectors one at a time until you find the cylinder, then figure out if it's spark, compression or fuel injector. Hope to God it's just a bad plug or wire because changing injectors or doing compression checks on these things isn't easy!
Good luck!
Good luck!

BTWok.I reset the ECM checked for vacume leaks(found none).Car still starts right up and idles like crap.I drove it around for a few minutes and it misses like crazy and hesitates and shakes.I pulled all the plugs this time and all but 2 or 3 of them are damp with what i think is fuel but could be a little oil and the plugs that are damp are all black and not looking healthy.I cleaned them all up replaced 1 and movrd the couple of good ones to other holes.Still runs like crap.I dont think 5 or 6 injectors could go bad at the same time so other than an intake leak or something im stumpped.I disconnectrd my MSD box and hooked it up stock......stayed same.No water in the oil, could it be my distributer?ECM?Distributer is new(1 1/2 years old but virtually no miles on it.about 6000 miles.)Car is acting like it wants to flood out, smells like gas,a touch of white smoke like its pig rich and RPM surges up and down at idle.help please. And yes i`ve searched for about 2 hours before reposting. Thanks guys.BTW.Fuel pressure has been checked in every instance other than wot an is fine.

I havent had time to pull the injectors yet but im trying to check all the easiest stuff first since I`ve never broken down the whole intake by myself.I pulled the distributer and the roter looks ok,no apparent damage. What should the contacts inside the distributer look like? The one to the coil is a little black like its got some carbon build up but all the other contacts have some whitish, almost green in spots, corrosive looking residue.I dont recall seeing any of that before.Come on guys, only one reply.Gimmie some help,my baby is sick.

well ,I found my problem. Its not an injector.I replaced the distributer and it would barely stay running but if i gave it gas the idle cleaned up pretty good.Good enough for me to hear a rattle on the driver side valve cover.Took the oil fill top off and looked in......im missing a rocker arm.Or its not where its supposed to be.removed valve cover and i found i had a sheared 7/16 stud so now i have to see if i bent the push rod oh well atleast I found my problem. But I dont have many tools and I cant seem to get the stud unscrewed.TIME TO CALL IN SOME FAVORS. OK.I hope i get some replies from you guys for some help, but I`ll just post my progress anyway.Maybe it will help someone who is learning as he goes like me.I got the push rod out and it diddnt appear bent.I wanted to be sure so i rolled it across a counter top at home and it has just the slightest tiny bend in it,barely noticeable but i guess it was enough to break the stud. The lifter looks good as best i can tell.Any suggaestions.
