no vacuum on the fpr

what would be the harm in running the car with the vacuum hose removed from the FPR? I only ask this Question because with the hose connected i get a reading on my fuel pressure gauge of 37psi, and when i disconnect the vacuum hose it gose up to 47 or 48 psi and my idle smoothes out. so i just wondered if i could run the car like this(without the hose) until i buy a new adjustable fuel pressure regulator from summit next week.

Re: no vacuum on the fpr

The motor is suppose to idle better with a lower fuel pressure. That is why it is set up the way it is. I see no harm if yours runs better until you get a new pressure regulator. Just make sure there is no air leak.

Re: no vacuum on the fpr

the only thing about taking the fpr off a tpi is you need the security torx bits. and make sure you have an upper plenum gasket set laying around just incase you screw up the ones you have. the only pain in the a$$ about the tpi system is puttin the top part of the plenum back on the car and lining up the holes pisses me off everytime!!! lol just take your time and mark the bolts and put them in bags.
