A bigger/better ignition, will allow you to run a larger spark plug gap.

maybe need to check that the coil mounting is providing a good ground connection. paint, corrosion, dirt, grease, etc.

I am missing a bolt to the bracket that holds it to the motor! do you think that is what it is? I never got one because it seemed to be on good, but if that is a ground then I need one . let me know if that is what you R talking about. Thanks Brother

i recently installed an msd coil on my l98 and i feel that the motor seems to rev easier past 3000 rpm, and yea it always helps to have all the bolts lol

I put the blaster on and it works great. I did open up the gap to .040 though so you may try that.

I run the msd blaster 2 coil also, .40 gap on my new plugs the car seems to run better. i found out 4 of my 8 wires had like 8000 ohms resistance verses the other wires with only 70 to 200 ohms, found out the connection at the metal end caps were alittle corroded and lose. tighten then up and the car is starting up alittle easier and runs a ad stronger.
its always good over time to pull the coil and check all around it for any cracks from vibrations and stuff, or just have someone start your car and check for arching anywhere in the system.
