Plenum porting, taking out peice between the 2 intake holes?

hello

I am planning to mega port my plenum. I plan on using the stock tb.
Just so can picture it, think of the front of the plenum with the two circular ports. What i was thinking about was taking out the middle part between them so the front of the plenum would have a big almost oval on the front of it.

My thinking is that it would increase plenum volume a little bit.

porblems, thoughts,opinions about this?

Well that is what I'm going to do on my next round of mods. However I'm going to a monoblade.

Do some research on intake manifolds such as the Superram and Stealthram. I thought I remembered one of them with a big oval in the front for the throttle body like you described.

that looks pretty mean, I want to know how that worked out for you

I knocked the restrictive walls between the runners and smoothed the area where the air starts to go into the runners from the pleneum.

the motor is all together but I am going to do the same thing to my buddies pleneum for some pics

I also opened the ports on the runners where they meet the pleneum and simeased then about a half inch into the aluminum plate the the runners slide into

it made some good power in my 305

I don't see why you would get false sensor readings. The two holes in the bottom are for the EGR and the PVC valve.

I don't think that taking that out would have any effect unless you got a monoblade throttle body. If you get one on there, then that would deliver MUCH more air to the runners, however, you are going to have to port the hell out of the rest of the plenum to gain the effects you want. Hi flow runners work well too.
