MiniRam 383 MAF or Speed Density??
Hi there guys. I am building a 383 for my 1992 RS 305 TBI> I am going to have tpi parts take my current harness and convert it from TBI to TPI for me. SO here is my question. I am building the L98 motor that super chevy mag did a build on in march 07 The only difference is that i am using a MiniRam and holley heads. I was wondering if you guys have any thoughts on which computer would be better for this set up MAF or SD. I want something that i won't have a problem tuning because i don't do it myself and will have to pay someone to tune. THANKS

The thirdgen speed density computer is MUCH easier to tune, as it has more tables to adjust and more people are using them on hot rods and such. The MAF sensor has proven to be a restriction to air flow at higher RPMs. Definitely go with the '7730 speed density computer.
Also, the MAP sensor you have now will work with it. You wont have to go buy a new MAF.

On your TBI car, it's bolted to the windsheild/cowl area just above the tranny dipstick/heater core hoses. It has a green colored 3 prong electrical plug and one vacuum line running to it. On a SD TPI car, it's bolted to the rear passenger side of the upper intake plenum.
