L98 head question (already searched, very confused)

Okay now im pissed haha. I have been searching for about an hour and just need someone to sort this out for me. I have a set of L98 heads that this weekend is going to be running this cam....

Cam Style:Hydraulic flat tappet
Basic Operating RPM Range:2,200-5,700
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift:224
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift:234
Duration at 050 inch Lift:224 int./234 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration:282
Advertised Exhaust Duration:292
Advertised Duration:282 int./292 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.465 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.488 in.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio:0.465 int./0.488 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees):114
Intake Valve Lash:0.000 in.
Exhaust Valve Lash:0.000 in.

And these springs....

Spring Specifications:
Spring TypeO.D.I.D Single w/damper1.260".880"
.Seat Pressure 135# @1.750"-115# @1.800"
Open Pressure
360# @1.200"
335# @1.250"
Coil Bind
1.150"

And what im getting is that the cam is too big for the heads...I dont know why...but thats what im comming up with in this search. Some say because of the stock springs (aka not my problem) and others say it has to do with the guides? Can somebody just tell me if I can use this setup, and if not what do i need to do.

Thanks guys.

i have a stock headed L98 with a cam that has that same lift and all i did was change the valve springs. i used comp PN 981 springs. works good to me. i think after something like the .5 lift the guides MIGHT be a problem, but you dont need to worry about that.

okay cool, yeah and besides you can look at the numbers and find out that the L98 head is about done at .480 lift anyways. Whats the point of running the larger intake lift if you wont get any more flow from it? Maybe a little better swirl?

Its actually for that reason I like the L98 head but hey thats a different subject.

Re: L98 head question (already searched, very confused)

yea thats what i heard with the stock L98 heads as well, .480 and there done... i wanted to run the HOT cam and my HSR but i was told the cam with 1.5 rockers is too much at .492 lift. i would need to upgrade the springs etc...im very interested in 3dgenZ's comment about the comp PN 981 springs.... how much where they and where did u get them from...also did it increase the lift etc and will my HOT CAM work now.....please tell me yesss. part # too would be appreciated thanks
