funky engine start up...
Anyone else ever have their eninge start up, but when it does, it acts like it started on about 3 cylinders for a breif second then smooths out? Any ideas or is this a normal SBC thing? lol. Car runs fine, timing is correct at 6*. Car is in my sig.

Re: funky engine start up...
My 87 formula does the same exact thing (305TPI). On the initial start-up it almost stalls out and smells very rich, and then idles perfectly. I was beginning to think that the cold start injector was the culprit. I'm interested to see what others opinions are. I have new plugs, new wires, timing is set and tp sensor is adjusted correctly. -Bob

Re: funky engine start up...
UPDATE: I disconnected the connector for the cold start injector and besides for cranking over a little longer then normal, it seems to have cleared up the rich condition and the stumble at initial startup. This was just a temporary "backyard" solution until i can delete the injector and get a new PROM. -Bob
