AFPR Help!

Ok as some of you may remember a week or 2 ago i had a thread about the AFPR i found on my car, well my car is having some problems with fuel pressure so i figured im gonna go ahead and use the new BBK one i have.

I pulled off the old one, and i cannot figure out if its a stock regulator or an aftermarket setup together. Going by BBK's directions i cant just place that spacer washer on the spring and tighten down the bolt because the spring is under some other adapter.

Im not sure whats up with what i took apart, it has a reverse drive bolt/allen bolt that threads into the spacer on top of the spring. What do you guys think? How do i go about installing this BBK one. Ive included some pictures for you guys to see.

Also if i need new diaphrams where do i purchase them?

Thanks
-Steve

Re: AFPR Help!

Ya.

I did go ahead and install the BBK, basically i just didnt use that metal spacer included with the AFPR. I set it all and it works correctly i think. I think my fuel pressure gauge is a little off, or its unsteady.

Im also not sure about this either, with the key on and the car off the fuel pressure will jump up to say 39psi but it goes down pretty quick, its not staying pressurized...kinda strange i think.

Im curious to know where all the pressure is going. The car does hold good pressure when the car is on.

Ive had a stalling problem recently, but now i have the fuel pressure set correctly so ill see how it does.

Re: AFPR Help!

get the pressure up to about 42-45psi, as far as the pressure dropping that sounds like leaking injectors, or a failing pump.

hope this helps

Re: AFPR Help!

With the car running, pull the vac. line off of the regulator and see if it's leaking fuel out of the vac. port.
