Just got a code 32

Is there anything else to look at besides the EGR valve it's self when dealing with this? Or should I just replace the valve without worrying about anything else?

Yes, it could be the EGR solenoid or the EGR TEMP. Diagnostic switch. The later is screwed into the side of the EGR valve and has a wire which runs to the back of the motor on the drivers side. I pinched that wire between the runner and the manifold and that caused the code 32. There is alot of things to check, which takes for ever(trust me). Check the vacuum source to the EGR solenoid. If all this checks out let me know and I'll dig a little deeper. Good luck.

where would be a good starting point after I get the plenum removed?

Man, good luck. I've been chasing that code for about a year now. If you got the plenum off already try reaching under the valve and see if it moves. If its free hook up a vacuum pump to it and see if it'll hold a vacuum. After that good luck. For a real good article on the EGR go to the Tech section. GM Tech wrote up a real good troubleshoot for this problem. Hope I helped out some. Later
