I was told (by a race engine shop)that the stock rods(machined/smoothened)and good bolts are good for 500HP and up no more than 6K RPM .Also that they are the powdered metal type.I used the L98 rods on my stroker

I have a set of new LT4 PM 5.7 inch "pink" rods for my 383. Is it worth installing ARP Waveloc Pros and then paying $80 for resizing?

I'm shooting for 6500 RPM operation in conjunction with a Miniram.

Dan-

The only reason I replace rod bolts is if they're used. I have a strict "no used rod or head bolts" rule as these things stretch quite a bit while being torqued. And...any time I replace rod bolts I use ARP wave-locks.

If your new rods came w/ new bolts, I'd use 'em. I have never, ever heard of a rod bolt failure on an LT1/LT4 even w/ nitrous, blower, etc.
