Dent in fuel line! Can anyone do a FI flare?
Well nobody is perfect.
I put a bit of a bend in my pick-up line.
I tested the fuel pressure at WOT and it does not drop, but it may with more mods or when I spray.
Does anyone now who could put flare on a line that will seal a FI system. I do not think, or care to risk, doing this with a double flare tool.
Thanks!!

I am glad that you know there is a difference. Most people don't. Some GM dealerships have the tool to do so. Also, there are some places that do this. There are a couple of places here in Savannah that make custom lines like that. If it is a small one, you could just order a new one from a dealer, or get them from http://thirdgenparts.com

Thanks brother!
I'll try some of the local dealerships here.
This way I can remove the fuel pump w/o dropping the tank.
Thanks again!

I used double flare's on mine and have had no probs in it at all been there 2+ years I need to redo it cause of too many bends but still works just fine and holds pressure

Monte,
Did you use an O ring on it?
I'm using it to go from a hard line to one of the high press rubber line like the one that attached to the fuel rail.
Did you use a d flare to go hard to hard line or hard to soft?

I did part of the first step of the double flare to bubble the end of the hard line, then cut the metal end off the rubber line and just clamped it on there. Been that way for 2 years. I also did some double flares here and there. The only disadvantage I can see to a double flare is the orifice size necking down in the fitting, that inevitably happens. If you went to an AN fitting setup that wouldnt be a problem. A double flare can more than handle the pressure of FI, same goes for the AN stuff. You are only running about 50psi so really there isnt much pressure as far as fittings like that are concerned.
I dont know of anyone who has the equipment to do the saginaw flare (which I assume is the FI flare you are talking about). Im sure its out there, just havent seen it.
