Car runs like crap, i wanna kill it.
Ok i have a 1990 Pontiac Firebird GTA and can not for the life of me get it to run right.
i did intake gaskets this winter so i also replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor oh and the O2 sensor, when i did the intake gaskets the intake was leaking anti freeze and the O2 was bad so was the EGR, so i fixed the EGR it was just carboned up so i cleaned it and it worked fine, now i put AC Delco plugs wires cap and rotor on and found out Delco wires are the biggest pile of crap made b4 this i`d recommed them to anyone but now no way.
heres what it does, at idle i can make it run really smooth by retarding the timming but it`s slowler then my moms neon, if i advance it, it`ll run fast down the street but sounds horrible at idle like it`s missing like mad. i don`t have a timming gun so i`m setting timming by ear and i did unplug the tan wire.
this is what i know, the car at idle only puts out 12 inchs of vacuum it`s suppost to put out 18 so it`s real low on vacuum, my O2 sensor maybe bad the oil temp says -39 so thats bad and i have to replace the wires AGAIN. i havn`t done a compression check yet.
and if anyone could put a pic up of the vacuum lines on the right rear of the engine, (350 TPI) that would be great.
this year so far i`ve put brakes on the front still need to do the back a tranny, intake gaskets and rear tires about 1000 bucks worth of stuff, i`m getting so sick of this car, she`s lucky she`s pretty LOL, i had a offer of 4500 last year i shoulda took it.
so if anyone has any ideas on whats wrong with my car i`d love to hear them.

Get a timing light and set the timing right. Next you have a vacuum leak somewhere, aka rough idle. And get the sensors fixed. The ECM probably is not going into closed loop due to faulty sensor readings.

Also buy a Chilton’s, will give you all the vacuum diagrams, and lists of trouble codes exec. And they are only 20$
