If the TPI is from a 1986, then it will fit 1986 and OLDER heads. Otherwise it will fit the 87 and up cylinder heads.

Mark.

I had a friend put an 87 TPi onto a 93 caprice engine. The intake bolts to the head are in the same place, they are just at a steeper angle. He took a dremal tool to the wholes and it bolted right up he added a little RTV to seal it up. That was a year ago and no problems yet. I have also heard of other people doings this, so I think it is a pretty common practice. It is kind of a bitch to do though.

Are you sure of the model years of those parts? I have a complete '87 TPI engine sitting in my garage, and the center intake bolts are at the steeper angle. The '93 Caprice engine should have been the same, unless the heads had been changed.

Unless your "'87" TPI was a leftover '86 (not entirely out of the question), it should have had the later bolt pattern.

James117, if you're buying aftermarket replacement heads, be sure to specify the '86-older style. The only difference is the center two intake bolt angle.
