TBI to TPI fuel pump and lines
TBI to TPI fuel pump and lines
I just picked up a complete TPI system for my 89 Formula for $150. It has everthing. NOt sure if it's SD or MAF. Anyways, I need to know if a new fuel pump is needed, if so would an inline be the way to go? Sould I find a TPI pump? And Do I really have to replace the existing lines? Any other bits of change over advice is welcomed!!!!

I did your swap a couple of years ago. You need to find out what year your TPI is, so you know whether it's SD or MAF. Checking out the wiring harness should give that away if you have it. I switched to the TPI fuel pump for my swap. I wish I had used a better/bigger pump. I used the existing fuel lines, because unless someone can show me different part numbers, I'd doubt GM would build these with different lines.
If you have any questions, let me know.
