LOUD VIOLENT SUCKING SOUND!!HELP!!

HELP!! I got a loud violent sucking sound coming from my Elelbrock baseplate region. I put spray everywhere, and cant seem to pinpoint it. Is it the IAC, or something else? Its a 1988 formula w/FULL mods. Still have the stock chip though.. Thanks in advance!!

Get a piece of hose... put it your hear and snoop around the engine with the other end. It helps a lot to pinpoint noises

Check your power brake booster line ti the plenum, maybe it came off or is leaking.

Are you sure it's the base plate ? On mine it was the IAC that was stuck closed and it was making a VERY violent sucking sound. Sounded like I had a supercharger in there or something... LOL

my car also makes a violent sucking sound that started right after i put the edelbrock throttle body on the IAC works fine it is just the 52mm throttle body. if i put my finger over the hole to the IAC circit and wait for a minuet then release my car screams up to 3000 rpm and the sucking sound is so loud it hurts your ears.

Make sure the vacuum hose is on your fuel pressure regulator. I left mine off and got that sucking/screeching sound too.
