ok, i need a cam, higher stall Tq converter,
i have 2.42(?? i think??) gears now, and would like to keep the top speed and some kind of mileage(not as important as top speed). i will be swaping the open rearend for a slp posi next summer/fall. but i hope to be putting the miniram 350 in, in the spring. what cam/Tq conveter would be the "best" for this setup??

not to undermind your thinking, but 2.42??
you wont have enough torque to carry the car to 2800rpm. and with 2.42 torque is what youll have to have to keep the car 4-4500rpm in fourth to get topend.
i went from a 2.59 to a 3.07 gained 300rpm top end, accelleration, throttle response, and lost 1mpg. and in corvettes id wished a dana36 3.33 and id probably be even happier.
for a stall 2500rpm street 3000rpm strip
cam: 550/219/112lsa
because of the torque loss gears will be necessary 3.40 or 3.70
the miniram is air volume not air speed.
itll go 6000rpm if the underside is matched.
heads afr 195-210
so a $1100 manifold going to cost you $4000...
just some things ive run into and others have too...
