CAN'T SET MINIMUM IDLE... help...
I tried to set my idle this afternoon, using the tech article on this board to do so, but when I try to set it, the idle stop screw will not adjust it down, meaning that the idle only drops so far and then the screw can still be adjusted out, but the idle stop on the throttle body will not follow. I loosened up the TPS, and it helped some, but mu idle is WAY off. When I first started, I had an RPM of about 1500, loosened the TPS, which let it drop to about 1250 and it will NOT drop anymore. Any help on this will be appreciated guys - tell me what I'm hosing up, here. I did the procedure outlined in the tech article, so the IAC was disconnected and all, but something ain't right. Also, I did not pop any SES light with it being disc.
First I would check the TPS Voltage with a VOLT METER. Check to make sure the voltage is at .54V +/- 0.07V. You just can't go adjusting it with out the voltmeter .. it is too sensitive.
Once it is set try adjusting the IAC to the procedure you have. Then recheck the TPS Voltage again and adjust it if nessary.
I had to do this a couple times when I got my new cam and heads installed.
One last thing make sure the car is warmed up or at operating temperature when you do the IAC adjustment.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the input, SKI89, and I did just that and again to no avail. It appears, for whatever reason that the IAC is not closing. I haven't had the time again to really research it, but I know the throttle body and IAC passages SHOULD be fairly clean, as they were cleaned a few months ago. The IACV is fairly new, too... I'll have to chase down my wiring and check to see if it's up to snuff and I guess the good thing is that I still have my old IACV, so I could use it to troubleshoot, if necessary...
