iroc went 12.7@111mph!!!!

I finaly got back to the track tonight, its been about 3 months. First run 13.2@106 oops. 2nd run 12.7@111mph almost stalled it because i was racing a drag car coundn't hear a damn thing. 3rd time i figure more gas so i go 12.7@110mph spinning realy hard of the line and had to let off the go pedal for a second. I went home then since i live an hour away and don't have AAA. I'am realy happy with my times and I'am getting better with the 5 speed and drag radials. For any one who doubts me i will post some slips and pics of my car next week. Know I'am off to bristal as we speek for the efi high tech race.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TFW heads $900
Super ram $800
Base plate 350-450 depending on how good a deal you get
24#svo $220
This will get you high 12s@110mph with 2:77 gears i know my car did it. of course you need some other little things that can add up. Don't go wimpy on the exhaust get a 3.5 mufflex sytem and 1 3/4headers The trick flow heads are great i don't care what anyone says for bolt on they make more power than any other head except maybe AFR although maybe not even.

-----

I'm running a similar combo and judging by the way it's pulling (hope to et it soon),,, I have no reason to doubt you superiroc -

Just got back from bristal dragway. My car was not at e-town i wish i could race at such a nice track. My car has the usual bolt ons plus box stock trick flow wedge heads mild cam, super ram,52tb, 3.5 mufflex 5 speed 3:73, ads crappy chip, nittos dr,control arms. My car looks exactly like traxion but white and cowl hood. I drive this car every day almost. I know my car has more potential at a fast track or even a decent track. I also doggeg at 111mph and broke loose bad at 110mph running 12.7 both times back to back. From what i have been told a good track like maple grove i can take off half a second and add 3-4 mph this was by a guy who runs a 69 camaro in the 9s who prefers maple grove but since BSD is only 40 minutes is much closer to home. I also have about 20,000 miles on this 355 with zero problems. I also run big 255s up front and stiff shocks/struts so no this car is not setup for drag.

Superroc, what did you run at Bristol? The best I could manage was a 13.220 @ 101.9 mph.

Bahh...you were flying compared to my car at Bristol...;-) I had the Blue vert that was typically parked next to Hank's car. Best I could muster was a 102.9 mph/14.xx run on my first run on Saturday during True Street. That was with a kickass 2.45 60'time. I can't 60' my car to save my life. Best I could do there was a 2.24 and that was letting the tranny shift itself 1-2 at about 3800 rpm, woopee!!. My 2nd and 3rd runs were actually going to be better as I was 3 mph faster in the 1/8 than the 102 mph run and the tranny gave up the ghost in 3rd gear. 1st time without the TC lockup switch and the second time with it engaged. After that my 300 mile ride home told me not to run anymore. Tranny works fine under normal throttle but at WOT over ~4k RPMs it loses line pressure and spins. Next time it comes out it ain't going back in. Other than that Bristol, was fun as hell, especially the caravan up and the Bristol Motor Speedway tracktime!! Congrats goes to Hank on 2nd fastest 3rd gen in True Street.

How the hell are you all getting these times? Do you have computer work that you are not listing. My car should be in the 12's im guessing but damn if it is. Ive been told its the computer but I cant believe its going to make a second and a half difference. The best the car has done so far was a 13.7@106 with a 2.2 60ft(hard radials). The more I do the slower it gets. Its parked till i can buy a dfi set up if that doesnt work than its going to be a big parts sale.

87z 383,afr 190's, crane hyd roller(224/230-.509/.528,112 sep),Ported and polished mini ram, 24lb inj, 3.42 gears, strange 12 bolt, tremec 5spd, , 1,3/4" slp headers.(stock 305 hypercrap chip), other stealth goodies.
Runs 14's all day long.

87ZYA You should be deep in the 12's but you won't get there with the 305 chip. I run a stock 350 chip in mine even though I have a Haltech sitting in the room with me. Go to the junk yard and pick up a stock chip or get new one from GM. With the MAF on the car you will not have as many problems with the MODS. After the 255gr max on the MAF the program puts in more fuel based on engine RPM. Get a chip and wake up the beast.

I still have an ads chip but need to get a custom chip or dfi. Try some nitto dr that should help your et. What type of intake do you have? Buy a MR or SR if you don't already have one.

Here's my timeslip that I acquired last night. The best of my career.

I'm not sure if I should have a better time or not. I just assumed my MPH is so low because of my intake. My intake is all stock except for SLP runners and a ported plenum. I'm really wondering what the Superram would do to the car????

60' 1.897
330 5.490
1/8 8.529
MPH 80.19
1000 11.177
1/4 13.412
MPH 101.02

This is on Kuhmo road race tires 245/45/16.
