Make it so.

Would it be worth doing? I know a welding professor and I'm sure he could weld aluminum,so my question is......If I cut open the inside of my stock runners and had him weld them together in the middle to make homade siamiesed runners would it be benificial?
$300 bucks is pricey when compared to $20 for his welding.So should I save up for SLP runners or fire up the welder?

neither , unless you have a larger cam, siamese runners will not benefit you.

A 350 with a ZZ4 cam and 1.6 RR is a good combo for what you want to do, IMHO.
It is a good idea, maybe I'll do it too.

The SLP runners are not only siamesed they are also a larger prot. I port matched my plenum to match them and I had to enlarge the openings on the plenum not only just the center section that is removed on the SLPs Also dont forget to port match tha gaskets. I think, speakinf from an engineers point of view, if you dont remove that you are just causing more turbulance going into the runners and actually reducing flow.

86 Trans Am 355 TPI Rebuilt 700R4 with Corvette servo, modified valve body, and a B&M Torque Converter (2000 rpm stall w/ lock up), 87 350 block bored .30 with new crank, bearings, rings, and magnafluxed rods. Reworked 305 heads with 3-angle valve job. Also there has been a PST front suspension kit with Hotchkis strut tower brace
