emmissions legal 383tpi....
emmissions legal 383tpi....
I posted this on the non-tech board a couple weeks ago, and figured I'll post it here for anyone who's curious.
My 383 TPI passed, easily, PA emmissions. I passed both visual (all my smog stuff is intact) and the dyno test. This is with close to 11.7 compression, and TPIS' cam w/1.6rr's and TPIS' chip.
Here's the breakdown from the report. I added the readings from the orig stock 350 for comparison.
CO%
Limit: .71
Reading: .09 (orig 350: .00)
HC ppm
Limit: 128
Reading: 77 (orig 350: 78)
NO ppm
Limit: 970
Reading: 561 (orig 350: 108)
383 readings taken at 1,549 rpms
350 readings taken at 1,546 rpms
The old 350 had headers, cat and catback, msd and a hypertech chip. Also 4.10 gears on both test, so even though they were reading at 1,54x rpms, my engine was probably spinning a bit faster (probably around 1,84x)
