o2 sensor questions
First off, I bought an 85' z28 with a 305 tpi in it. it has 122k on the clock. It runs good, but its not getting great fuel mileage. So I've decided to start doing some of the maintains work on it. I'm starting with the fuel filter and the o2 sensor. Question 1. When I change the o2, do I need to unhook the battery to clear the cumputer? it has no ses light on, but not sure if the new o2 would through it off. Also, is there any thing else you guys would recomend to a little better mileage? Thanks for any help.

Re: o2 sensor questions
you won't throw any codes because the computer isn't reading anything when it is off, also to help increase gas mileage just try basic tune-up stuff along with the o2 sensor.

Re: o2 sensor questions
replace all of the following, for all you know this can take a second off your 1/4 because its all oe:
Spark Plugs, Spark Plug wires, Ignition Module, Distributor Cap and Rotor, Ignition Coil.... replace all of that and youll be sure to have a very noticeable difference.
EDIT: also, make sure your timing and fuel pressure are where they should be at... 6*btdc and 42psi is stock, you really dont need much more than that... although 10* and 45-48psi wouldnt hurt.
