high idle

took out my car the other night. out of nowhere the idle was at 1500 rpms. it was like this for 30 minutes. then finally it came down to 1200 rpms. but the car wont go lower then that. the car usually idles 750-800 rpms. any ideas??? it rained hard the other night maybe a sensor got wet?? any help would surely appreciate. also i disconnected the battery for 20 minutes and let the computer reset thought that might help...it didnt.

I have the same problem and I have seen others post this with little suggestions.

This seems to be a popular program and we need everyone's help to clear it. Anyone have this high idle while driving and what fixed it???????/

I have an 89 t/a 5.0 tpi and every once in a while like if the temp drops or there is moisture in the air the throttle sticks open just a bit... when it happens to you next time leave it running pop the hood and see if it is stuck open a little...
