fan relay/switch location 85 trans am

What the title states i dont have a manual for this car yet and i think it needs a new fan switch/relay since someone put a relay in that makes the fan run constantly if the car is turned on. Where is the relay or the switch located?

If the fan runs all the time it is probably grounded. Do you have a toggle switch or rocker switch that does`nt seem to do anything? Sometimes the fan is hooked up to an add-on switch, your fan may be on a switch. Not sure about an `85 but the fan switch for my `88 Iroc is on the passengers side of engine between #6 & # 8 spark plug. On this site, click on "search" and type in "`85 fan switch/relay" and you should be directed to more information than you could ever use. On my car there is a fan relay by the battery and 1 by the right side of the radiator, mine is a dual fan.

Yea i had an 86 iroc that got totaled (oops let mom drive it). It had the dual fans if i remember right and it too had the relay on to the right of the radiator. But with the pontiacs the air intake is taking up that space so im confused as to where the fan relay is on these. At least i kno where the switch is now. Thank you.

the relay sits under the air filter box on the passenger side...there are 2 relays so you may have to check both...i just replaced mine today...$8 at autozone...take the old 1 out so they can get the number off of it...

I have a 85 TA ,I had to buy one it should be by your rad on passenger side a big four or five prong connecter orange or red, tan ,green/white strip, then black/red strip wires. I placed my relay by my rad support near air filter area.
