350 ticking loder then my headers

Alright guys I got this ticking sound coming from the passenger side of the motor, it does it really loud when the car is ideling but once above 1k you can barely hear it, It feels like the motor is having a hard time setting at a certain rpm, like something inside the motor is rubbing against some thing its not supposed to.

I tryed to record it today, I believe the best plave to hear it is at 1:40 or 2:40 can't really remeber

Are you sure one of the distributor (HEI) wires isn't loose and sparking to the body at the back of he engine?

Check your plugs. Had one come apart on me and the compression was making it tick tick tick really loud.

Re: 350 ticking loder then my headers

try'd the spark plugs and snesors but nothing... so I decided to pull the oil filter(wait this gets better)... you know see whats up, So it turns out theres metal shavings in it. That metal wasn't there a week ago when I did an oil and filter change...

-So we pulled the motor, and going to have to clean all the oila passages,etc... as for what the ticking was I have my money on a lifter

To me it sounds like rockers (lash). But since you've pulled it......

Viprklr your right but the lash wasn't the only problem along with the locks that had failed........my crane gold rockers are finished, explains the metal in the oil filter (I'll have pics tomorow) Some one's getting a phone call
