TPI Cam question
I'm planning on rebuilding my 89 L98. I would like to use a set of ported aluminum Vette heads, ported upper and lower base, Accel intake runners, and edelbrock headers connected to the 3" exhaust that's already there. My question is whether the stock cam with 1.6 rockers would be adequate for this combo, or would it restrict horsepower? I'm trying to keep the motor fairly stock for gas milage, emissions, drivability, cost, and originality.
I believe the stock cam specs are:
.415"/.430" lift, 206/212 degrees duration, 117.5 LSA
With 1.6 rockers, the lift is about .442"/.458"
Also, can the roller lifters be reused since they don't really wear much?

I think you should go with an aftermarket cam, definitely if your throwing ported vette heads on there.
Do you plan to use forced induction down the road? That is a question you should ask yourself when making your cam decision.
Look at Comp Cams 08-304-8
Crane Cam 2032
Lingenfelter.com cams
TPIS ZZ9.
Whatever you do, don't get too much cam. Especially if you plan on using 1.6rrs.
Just my $.02

Also look at the GMPP ZZ3/ZZ4 Cam and the LT4 HOT Cam (thats the one I am buying).
