injectors going in tomorrow... got any handy tips?
i got my 19 lb ford injectors in the mail from jegs, $209 plus tax and shipping to $235. not a bad deal... i'll be tackling this tomorrow.
plenty of you guys on here have swapped injectors enough, do you have any tips? horror stories? etc? it'll be my first time doing it so combined with the instructions, any tips or advice would be awesome
i'll be using the instructions on www.thirdgen.org/injectorswap

Make sure you have a right torx. I hate TORX. Just be careful. Open up the gas cap to relieve pressure, have something around to catch any fuel coming from the main and return line. Stuff like that.
I haven't done it myself. I had the manifold apart, put injectors onto runners, but never did it together (I worked on few cars at different time LOL). You can hear the snap when the injector seats properly into the fuel rail and the intake. If you don't get it its most likely not in.
Good luck, it shouldn't be a hard job. Just takes some patience to be done right.

It was a real pain to do them the first time in my 92 Z28. Take your time and make sure you have lots of extensions and swivels. Some of the bolts are terrible to get to. Also be very careful not to damage a gasket when you are putting it back together.

The mistake I made with mine was not using new gaskets, when I put it back together. I now have a vacuum leak, thats making my Camaro run like poo-poo.
