89" L98 rebuild

ok guys im 2 weeks away from having my engine rebuilt,I would like to make it lope a little without messing with the fuel injectors and chip, what is you best suggestion for a L98 cam and rocker upgrade? I would like it to sound like this http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=8
will the lt4 hot cam kit do this on a stock L98 with stock chip and injectors?

Re: 89" L98 rebuild

ya that video is my iroc with the LT4 hotcam and 1.6 roller rockers without chip tuning or idle air adjustment... its not nearly as lopey now and is more driveable (it used to stall when slowing down)

that cam won't be as gnarly in a 350 because of the larger displacement, however I think anything larger will definatly require chip tuning.

there are other proven options avaliable like the xe cam and zz cams. do a search on cams in this TPI forum and you will be rewarded with more information then you can handle.

You also need to figure out how you would like your car to perform, for example the lt4 hotcam looses alot of bottom torque and replaces it with higher rpm power (at least on a 305). If I was to do it again I would search for something that boosts bottom end torque because torque is king on the street

Re: 89" L98 rebuild

The cam Im lookin for is daily driver, that idles with a little lope and makes noticeably more power then the stock cam,I will definatly be getting the heads and intake match ported, but yeah I want somthin that will run good with stock manifolds and exhaust,I wana retain a stock look under the hood,Im hoping to see 300 streetable HP,nothing crazy for now,But a cam that would definatly come to life if I start adding bolt ons later, such has throttle body, over sized runners, ect.

THX!!
