For those very well versed with the miniram , can you help me?
For those very well versed with the miniram , can you help me?
I found a deal on miniram I just cant pass up . I want to know how a miniram and 58 mm TB ( I have this already ) will work on a stock short block and heads ? I realize that is a severe mismatch , buy I cant afford heads and a cam till mid summer . Should I just not put the miniram on till I can get heads and a cam? I will be running a intercooled Vortech S-trim w/ 8psi also . The car has a 9" 2500 stall convertor and 373's . My other option is too leave the stock TPI stuff on with the blower till I can afford heads and cam . What should I do? I know the miniram is a pretty stout intake and I don't want to get into a big tuning mess trying to get it run right with the stock parts . TPIS claims a 90 horse gain by just putting the manifold on a stock motor ( per there catalog ) . Seems kinda far fetched to get that much just out of a intake swap , is it?
Any comments or suggestions would be killer , thanx guys

The miniram does NOT add 90hp to your peak hp, it added 90hp to their TEST engine at a given rpm before/after the miniram, They also used a completely stock TPI for comparasion to their MR on this modded test engine.
In other words their test engine was extreamly choked by the stock TPI. The MR free'd up 90hp on the top end.
Say the TPI test engine made 200hp at 6500rpm, when they put the MR on it made 290hp at 6500rpm.
It's called ADVERTISING, not lieing.

Learn how to burn chips, or get some sort of dfi system with a wide band o2 first. Get used to tuning and then put on your miniram. I went the oposite way and am kicking myself in the *** . Its much easier to learn how to tune a mild motor than a highly modded one.
