miniram and MAT sensor

I don't understand how the MAT sensor can be relocated before the throttle body. Are you supposed to just relocate it to the air cleaner assembly by drilling a hole a tapping threads?

I have my relocated MAT put in rubber boot just in front of the TB. I talked to TPIS at the time (I too was going to put mine in the air cleaner assembly) and they did not recommend it. They said there isn't good air flow and that the boot directly in front of the TB was a better spot. Also, any metal will conduct heat to the sensor.

One suggestion, do not remove the stock MAT or pull out the wire. Only swap the connector at the harness near the rear of the engine. You may find there are situations where you prefer the stock MAT. Currently, I cannot use a relocated MAT during cold weather; causes the ecm to over richen the car.
