How much would you pay for...
a TPI swap. I have a parts car(IROC) with TPI on it and ther is a guy who said for $600, he will swap the TPI from the IROC to my RS. This guy is a good friend and I know that he does excellent work, because he has done this swap 8 other times successfully. This is a pretty big job also. He is going to change: fuel pump, fuel lines, wiring, ECM, and anything else that I need to be swapped. He also puts everything back where it belongs and it looks like it came back form the factory. Also, the IROC has a 350 in it that he will give me $400 for so it will really only cost me $200. Oh yeah, I dont have the time or place to do it myself, but I would like to. What do you guys think?

that is a killer deal if the guy knows what he's doing. ask if you can talk to those other 8 guys to see how they liked the work. Be careful, I have found that trying to get a mechanic to do work for something he wants (parts) rather than something he needs (money) is usually asking for trouble.
draft an agreement that he will finish the job w/in a certain period of time or pay to have it done elsewhere (or something along those lines) so you don't get stuck w/ a halfway converted car.

i agree with irocz, make sure he is doing it for the right reason. anyways, yea, i asked a guy at a junk yard how much he wanted for a tpi set up off one of his iroc's, and he quoted 375, maby could have been talked down to 350, maby 325. but yea, if its all clean(in good shape), and he does the work, fuel pump AND lines, it sounds like he is doing that because he knows what he's doing... i think its a good deal
GO FOR IT!!!! That is a great deal. Hopefully all goes smoothly.

I would agree about that being a good deal.I would also get some kind of contract.Sometimes "friends" can be the worst people to do business deals with.
