Lots of carbon deposits in TPI parts, normal???

Lots of carbon deposits in TPI parts, normal???

I took the TPI pleunum off and there was lots of carbon soot covering the insides of it, is that normal, whta does it mean, can I fix the problem.

Yes, it is normal. That's provided that you are still using the EGR system.

Completely normal, even if you ditch the EGR. Its not quite as bad, but still there. The reversion from the wonderful design of the TPI forces some fuel back up the manifold. A tradeoff for a 'tuned' system I suppose.
