Think I got it figured out

I’ve posted a couple times about a problem I’m having with my 1992 RS. It’s a 305, and has been converted to TPI. The car has sat for quite a long time with some transmission problems that have finally been addressed. Even though the car sat, I kept very little fuel in the tank to minimize possible contamination of the fuel, and started it regularly to keep everything moving. I had it running great and all of a sudden it died. It will still start, but runs poorly. It idles about 250-350 rpm, and will not rev at all. As soon as you press the accelerator or open the throttle manually, it quits. Sounds like its running on maybe 3 or 4 cylinders. Timing is good. IAC and TPS are normal, and I have good pressure at the rail. I put a few gallons of fresh fuel in the tank and changed the fuel filter. I am getting a #42 code, despite replacing the distributor module.
I’ve thought all along that this is a fueling issue, and after doing a few searches and a LOT of reading, I think my problem is some stuck fuel injectors. I tried tapping on them with a screwdriver last night while my wife tried to start the car. I got it to idle a little better and even rev to about 800 rpm. But then the car died again. It started again and idled better for a moment, but then went back to its old antics and died. So that at least had an effect. Can I get some agreement that I’m on the right track here? I’m so close to driving my car again; I ordered a set of injectors off eBay for cheap and I really want them to fix my problem!
