AFPR..... boy am i spooked:(

i just installed my crane afpr, and i can't help but be spooked by the local NAPA guy's comment that this thing is a fire waiting to happen . The install didn't go as the instructions said, dur to the fact the diaphram and spring all can off with the "cap." I checked both seals and they are fine. I tighened everything down , and have pressurized the rail for about 2 hours now (on/off with the key), and no leaks. HMMMMMMMMMM, I just don't want my 'ROC looking like the 3-4 i have seen in the yards. Granted many more are there with their hoods intact but.......... Guy's really need some confidence/ advice. I know a lot of you have had no prob.s and have even built your own. All encouragement welcome. THNX THE SHAGGY IROC

I wouldn't worry if it isn't leaking.

Start a fire where there isnt one... typical parts counter moron

I have 2 cars with AFPR's, one is I think an Accel, and the other is homemade.
Hitting send before Im done... silly
Anyway, one is 2 years old, the other is about 4. Neither leaks.

lol, parts store guys are -sometimes- kind of like that. If you wanted to see a fire hazard you should of seen my manifold when i had gas covering a most of it and a resevoir (sp?) starting next to my valve covers. But they weren't due to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Rather a bad bad leak. If i was you, just turn the key to the "on" position and go look under the hood for fuel leaks, if none, then yer good to go... If there was one, i'd hope you could smell it. I sure could.

-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Problems every other day with the car (probably not a mod, but to me it sure makes a difference)

Wanna see a fire hazard? Look at the fuel line routing on a 4th gen! SCARY! AdjFPR on my 89RSZZ4TPI for about 4 years, no leaks, just seems to have started to freeze up a little.
