Is burning oil a major performance problem?

I burn oil. Not really bad just at start up, But i want to run nos. I'm afraid that if i run it that i'll really screw my engine up. So can i run nos and be burning oil?
Thanks

If it's your rings that are causing you to burn oil then I woudlnt even think about nitrous. If it's just your valve seals then it'll probably be okay.

No, if you are burning oil, fix the problem before you spray. Oil in the combustion space can lead to detonation and nitrous will only aggravate the problem.

If you are burning oil only at start-up, then it's likely the valve seals are toast. It's a cheap fix. If you were burning oil continually, it would be likely that your rings were no longer sealing.
